Nicole is the link between the Global Business Development Team and the Institution’s headquarters. She is based in London but makes regular visits to meet members, engineers and employers.
The Business Development Team work with industry and academia, supporting the engineering community and providing a link to the Institution. Nicole oversees their activities and provides support around the world.
The BDMs also provide advice and support for Professional Development, and Nicole represents the needs of members and potential members at One Birdcage Walk. She liaises with events, marketing and membership to develop new and existing services and ensure that the Institution is relevant and useful to engineers.
Nicole also looks after the Institution’s activities for apprentices and technicians. She closely supports employer groups as they develop apprentice schemes, and oversees the IMechE apprentice End Point Assessment service.
Nicole joined the Institution in November 2012. She had previously worked in media where she was a commercial director responsible for magazines and websites in a range of industries, including construction and architecture. She particularly enjoys being out of the office visiting engineering companies across the country, and has a broad perspective on engineering careers in the UK today.
When she’s not working, she enjoys life in London and goes home to South Wales regularly. She is also a keen traveller, and makes the most of her holidays!
