Formula Student 2021: 21-25 July 2021
Formula Student (FS) is Europe's most established educational engineering competition, which celebrated its 20th Anniversary in 2018. 2021 will see the event return to Silverstone as a behind closed doors event; catch up on all the action of the Saturday and Sunday Dynamic events on the YouTube Livestream.
Backed by industry and high-profile engineers such Patron, Ross Brawn OBE, the competition aims to develop enterprising and innovative young engineers and encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering.
The project usually forms part of a degree-level project and is viewed by the motorsport industry as the standard for engineering graduates to meet, transitioning them from university to the workplace. It is a kite-mark for real-world engineering experience, combining practical engineering experience with soft skills including business planning and project management.
Each year, Formula Student sees over 100 university teams from around the globe travel to Silverstone to compete in static and dynamic events that will test their preparation and hard work: who will be crowned the winner of Formula Student 2021?
Ensuring a COVID-Secure Event
As part of the plans and preparations for FS 2021 we will be carrying out a detailed COVID-19 risk assessment and managing the event with all relevant and appropriate Covid-19 risk mitigation in line with government guidance current at the time of any live event.
This will include, but is not limited to, provision of the following:
- Cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures.
- COVID-19 secure work spaces for all staff, volunteers and participants.
- Maintaining appropriate and applicable social distancing measures.
- Continual monitoring and management of the event site to mitigate possible transmission risk.
