Chris Atkins joined the Institution in 2018 and since then has delivered numerous presentations and workshops to a range of audiences in order to highlight professional registration along with the benefits of membership with the IMechE. Chris engages with industry and academia across the regions in order to ensure that the key messages of the Institution are passed on to students, apprentices and individuals looking to be become professionally registered members with IMechE.
Since graduating from UWE (University of Western England) Bristol, Chris has worked predominantly in the energy and utility sector as a project/account manager to promote the importance of STEM subjects to learners and career influencers through to those in the armed forces. Chris has extensive experience of delivering careers information, advice and guidance as well as membership development. He thrives on developing relationships with people and working with them to become members in order to achieve their career goals. Chris is keen to change the perception some people may still have of the industry and help to attract as many new entrants as possible.
Chris is committed to developing and strengthening relationships with organisations who are already in contact with the Institution while also keen to work with potential new companies to advise and help them where he can.
He is looking forward to working with people and to help them through the process of professional registration and helping them maximise their relationship with the Institution
Outside work Chris spends a lot of time on a tennis court and enjoys cooking and music.
