Formula Student
Over the past few months we have been using this space to share MAHLE Powertrain’s activities in support of Formula Student UK. However, what many might not know is that MAHLE Powertrain is part of The MAHLE Group, a global organisation and employer of 78,000 people in 34 countries. Ranked among the top three automotive systems suppliers in the world, The MAHLE Group recognises the responsibility of promoting engineering to future generations to aid growth and development.
This global presence therefore enables MAHLE to support the Formula Student experience not only in the UK, but worldwide; in 2017, The MAHLE Group sponsored a total of 29 teams from 9 different countries, including 8 electric teams. This sponsorship included a variety of benefits, such as financial support, exclusive learning workshops, access to production abilities and test facilities at MAHLE locations, and supply of MAHLE products.
Furthermore, during this period The MAHLE Group visited 11 of the global Formula Student competition events, including Japan, USA, Australia and Germany. Each of the stands hosted various activities such as technical presentations and workshops, technology exhibits, and our German colleagues even held the official Formula Student Germany after party. Overall, MAHLE’s commitment to supporting the Formula Student experience is indicative of our acknowledgement of the importance of inspiring a new generation of engineers for the future.
With this in mind, we at MAHLE Powertrain will be supporting FSUK at Silverstone this year with our largest exhibit to date, showcasing opportunities available at the company for young engineers looking for an exciting career in automotive engineering. There will be a variety of MAHLE technology on display, ranging from gasoline to full electric mobility, and showing different levels of hybridisation. We will also have a multidisciplinary team on site able to answer both questions on technical topics or applying for a career with us.
If you are coming to Silverstone for the competition, whether taking part or as a spectator, we would love to see you there.
