The Young Members Board is recruiting for a new programme lead for the Global Engineering Debate.

The Global Engineering Debate (GED) is an initiative created and administered by the Young Members of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers from across the world. Its purpose is to create a platform where young engineers around the globe can debate the key issues that affect the current and future generations of engineering professionals. This year's GED theme is Transport

The Global Engineering Debate (GED) Programme Lead will have oversight for key themes that are discussed at GED events and the event structure. They will also work with the relevant IMechE staff, theme managers, and YMB members to:

  • Run breakout sessions at YMB meetings
  • Maintain the overview and speaker profile (two, one-page documents)
  • Manage budget allocation for global GED events
  • Be the YMB point of contact for YM panels running GED
  • Keep track of creation of GED videos and reports by YM panels
