Volunteer applications open for Formula Student 2026

Deadline 27 Feb 2026: be a part of our biggest educational engineering competition.

We welcome you and your colleagues to join us in delivering another thrilling year of the IMechE's Formula Student competition, where 100+ teams from around the world will share their combustion, electric and autonomous vehicle projects on 15–19 July 2026 at Silverstone Circuit, Northampton, UK.

Whether you're assessing engineering presentations, scrutineering vehicles and electric systems, setting up dynamic events, ensuring safety, or assisting with media, this is a great opportunity to share your expertise at a fun and exciting event at the home of British Motorsport.

About Formula Student:

Formula Student (FS) is Europe's most established educational engineering competition and tasks student teams to design, build and race a single-seater race car, culminating with a live event at Silverstone with over 100 teams showing off their work. The project usually forms part of a degree-level project and is viewed by the motorsport industry as the standard for engineering graduates to meet.
