Don't miss your opportunity to nominate an exceptional Young Member in our Young Member of the Year Awards 2020. Nominations close 30 October 2020.

  • Do you know a Young Member who is a role model within their community?
  • Someone who inspires and motivates others to choose engineering through their hard work and enthusiasm?

Nominate a Young Member to help us find and celebrate these inspiring role models.

“Engineers are always relevant and necessary for our ever changing world, and we want to acknowledge the progress and contribution of those at the start of their careers as a springboard for what they and others can achieve now and in the years to come” stated former Young Member's Board Chair and Young Member Visionary Judge, Lydia Amarquaye.

“Young engineers bring creativity and innovation to their work and to the engineering community. We want to celebrate this and inspire others.”

This year the Young Members Board (YMB) will be awarding three individual awards for outstanding contribution in the following categories:

Who can apply

Any Young Member can be nominated or may self-nominate for one or several of the awards. Everyone who applies in any category will automatically be considered for the Young Member Visionary Award.

All entrants must be Young Members of the Institution. A Young Member is any Affiliate, Associate or Member who has achieved professional registration within the last ten years.

How to apply

Nominations and self-nominations are now being accepted for all three awards via an online application. Further details, guidance notes and links to the forms can be found at on the Young Member of the Year Awards web page.

Closing date: 30 October 2020.

Join us in closing out 2020 with a celebration of our Young Members and our future. Lydia Amarquaye encourages you to nominate and share with us your “stories of impact, adaptation and the Young Members who support those around them and continue to 'improve the world through engineering'.”
