Institution calls for nominations of excellent engineers for the 2018 Prestige Awards

The Institution is keen to recognise innovation and excellence, and does so through its wide range of Prestige Awards.

As a professional engineer, you can reward your colleagues and peers for their achievements which can truly be said to have improved the world, or advanced the discipline of mechanical engineering, by nominating them for recognition.

The Prestige Awards include:

• The £10,000 James Clayton Prize is awarded for an exceptional contribution to mechanical engineering and related science, technology and invention.
• The £5,000 Alastair Graham Bryce Award is presented to an individual or group for encouraging young people into engineering careers.
• The £1,500 Verena Winifred Holmes Award is for demonstrating the value of embracing diversity and listening to and respecting the perspectives of others.
• The Thomas Hawksley and George Stephenson Gold Medals are awarded to the best original research papers published by the Institution over the past 12 months.
