Join us in delivering another thrilling year of the IMechE's Formula Student competition, where 100+ teams from around the world will compete in the 27th edition of the competition from 16–20 July 2025 at Silverstone Circuit, Northampton, UK.

Since its launch in 1998, Formula Student has been instrumental in developing the next generation of engineers, challenging engineering students to design, build, and race a single-seater car from scratch, equipping them with critical skills and experience.

Formula Student thrives thanks to a passionate community of volunteers from diverse industries who dedicate their time and expertise to support and evaluate student teams. Whether you're assessing engineering presentations, scrutineering vehicles and electric systems, setting up dynamic events, ensuring safety, or assisting with media, there’s a role for everyone. No prior experience? No problem! Many volunteers are former competitors or judges, but newcomers are always welcome. First-time judges are paired with experienced mentors to help them get up to speed and fully immerse themselves in the event.
