Ways to pay

The easiest way to renew your membership is online or, if you have a UK bank account and address why not set up a Direct Debit and pay in 1, 3 or 10 instalments.

Pay online

Direct Debit (for Members with UK Bank Accounts): Set up a Direct Debit in a few clicks with our secure online form. It’s easy, convenient and ensures your payments are always on time. With Direct Debit you receive a £3 discount on your 2027 subscription with the flexibility to pay in one, three or ten instalments.

Credit/Debit card by phone: You can pay over the phone using your debit or credit card by calling +44 (0)1952 214 050. Make sure to call during the opening hours of Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm (UK time), and have your membership number ready to provide.

Reduced subscription rates

We understand that as our members progress through their careers, there may be times when they may need more support to pay their membership fees. If you are retired, a member on a lower income, or find yourself in altered financial circumstances we may be able to help. Please see Subscription reductions and other support for further details.

Download your VAT receipts and annual Tax Statements for payments you made to IMechE, simply log in to your online account.

ITEPA

For UK payers of tax, an employee may claim a deduction for annual subscriptions paid to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Proceedings Journals or Engineering Council, where the body’s activities are relevant to the duties of the employment. The relevant legislation is ITEPA 2003 sections 343 to 344.
