Summary

This course goes beyond the traditional 'planning and control' approach to project management and looks at significant uncertainties, unexpected environmental and market changes, leadership challenges and hidden agendas.

This Advanced project management course will explore the nature of managing projects. Major projects are inherently risky due to long planning horizons, complex interfaces and multi-actor processes, and non-standard technologies and designs. One of the main challenges in project management is inadequate benefit, cost, and time forecasts. Consequently, benefit shortfalls, cost overruns, and delays are common during project implementation and often projects are challenged from the beginning.

Who should attend?

Anyone involved in projects – whether as project manager, project team member, planner or senior manager – will benefit from this program. The skills and techniques taught on this program are relevant to all sectors of business.

How will I benefit?

After this course you will be able to:

  • Determine the best approach to managing a project in terms of choosing between linear, agile or hybrid approach.
