What's 5000kg and can travel at over 150MPH?
The Fastrac 2, designed and built by a team of young engineers in Staffordshire, recently secured the title of World’s Fastest Tractor at Elvington Airfield in York with motorbike racer and lorry mechanic Guy Martin at the wheel. Its top speed of 135.191 mph was officially ratified by Guinness World Records who presented the company with a special framed certificate minutes afterwards.
The Institution's Powertrain Systems and Fuels Group warmly invite you to their online annual lecture on 10 November 2020, where representatives from JCB will discuss the engineering around this achievement. Join to hear about the challenges they encountered and the technical solutions they made on their journey to make this 5000kg machine go over 150mph, together with the additional discoveries that could create a revolution in farming.
