Institution News Team
Are you seeking a volunteer position to share your skills and expertise, contribute to your CPD and support the next generation of engineers?
The IMechE has a number of member volunteer committees who are active in supporting all aspects of the election of new members to the Institution, as well as a large number of related activities.
We are actively recruiting new members and we are keen to have input from and engage with members from across the Institution.
The QMB is the senior board within the membership area, which gives oversight for the delivery of all our Engineering Council (EngC) licence activities, maintaining and protecting standards.
The QMB has a strong ethos of encouraging engagement from interested members who wish to participate in our work through volunteering. This is done through an on-going process of succession planning, allowing for both the retention of experience and expertise, as well as periodic refresh to welcome new volunteers with relevant skills.
Within this remit, there are a number of Committees and Assessment Panels which support the election of new members and other activities who are currently looking to recruit new volunteers.
Find out more about the roles currently available, role descriptions and guidance on the expected time commitment and how to apply.
“Being a committee member is very rewarding. The satisfaction of being able to offer something back to a profession that has stood me in good stead for many years is immense."
David Gordon-Cranmer, CEng FIMechE, Academic Standards Committee member
