Paul Beard
Paul Beard, Chair of the Group, welcomes you to the Thermofluids group. To those who are new to the group, this newsletter provides an update on activities in this field.
Thermofluids is an exciting and diverse area, ranging over many industries. We have over 14,000 Institution members who are interested in thermofluids, and no doubt many more who are dealing with the topic on a day-to-day basis.
Every six months we put out a TFG newsletter and by focusing on thermofluids we will cover many industry sectors and hope to share best practice in this fast moving and crucial area of expertise. Find out more about the Thermofluids Group.
We also share information on our news page and welcome submissions for news items for our industry. If you would like to review a recent conference you attended, comment on a relevant news story or tell us about developments in your industry, we would be really pleased to include this on the TfG webpages.
If you have not already joined the TFG LinkedIn group please do so and communicate with over 1,600 liked minded professionals. For those active on social media, the Institution is also on Facebook.
This year we have organised events on ‘Hyper Micro-Fluids: A Visual Overview of High Speed Two-Phase Flow and Phenomena for Cooling of Future Electronics’, ‘In-flight ash detection and deposition’, ‘Multiphase CFD Modelling: State-of-the-art applications and challenges’ and ‘SABRE - The next breakthrough in aerospace propulsion’. Please provide any suggestions for future events and activities you would like to see take place or let us know if you would like to get involved.
With such a choice of media and messages, I hope we can include you in our aims:
Please tell us what you think of our email newsletter, either by emailing ge@imeche.org, or via the TFG's LinkedIn group. We look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
Paul Beard Chair of the Thermofluids Group
