National Engineering Policy Centre aims to bring together the voice of our engineering community

The National Engineering Policy Centre launched earlier this year is a joint collaboration across 39 professional engineering institutions in the UK.

Representing nearly half a million engineers, this Centre aims to bring together the voice of our engineering community to influence the UK government and devolved administrations, industry and others collaboratively, highlighting critical policy recommendations.

The National Engineering Policy Centre has a close relationship with the Government enabling the collective voice of our engineering community to he heard more clearly. It also promotes the closer working of individual institutions where focus on specific niche topics is required.

The Institution is a member of the Centre and played a leading role of the development of the Engineering Priorities report, the first publication of this ambitious joint organisation. This report aims to bring attention to specific engineering policies that our community feels should find support in the upcoming spending review. These policy recommendations primarily fall into skills, innovation, digital and traditional infrastructure, and clean energy technologies.
