Membership Drive: IMechE Malaysia

on 28 May 2022, The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Malaysia Branch organised a meeting with The Imperial College Alumni Association of Malaysia (ICAAM) as part of a membership and promotion drive.

The event was represented by IMechE Malaysia Branch Chair, Ir. Dr. Aidil Chee Tahir and the South East Asia Business Development Manager, Mr. Zen Teng. ICAAM was represented Mr. Jee Kwan Ng, the Vice President of ICAAM and Dr Anwar P. P. Abdul Majeed, the Liaison Officer of ICAAM.

An introductory explanation was given to ICAAM on IMechE in general, the benefits of becoming a IMechE member, professional recognition of Chartered Engineer (CEng) and the professional registration pathway. The attendees discussed in detail the IMechE membership application process including the application form, the requirements according to the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence and Commitment (UK-SPEC) and the preparation for a Professional Review Interview (PRI).

Both IMechE Malaysia Branch and ICAAM also agreed on future event collaborations, which would largely enhance the benefits to the local members of both organisations.
