The Vision Awards underpin the Institution’s vision, to improve the world through engineering, by inspiring, preparing and supporting tomorrow’s engineers to respond to society’s challenges.

Matthew Crofts

EngTech Visionary of The Year 2020 : Matthew Crofts, described by the Judges as someone who is an enthusiastic promoter of professional registration and particularly EngTech within the audience of apprentices he works with. He leads by example, having become EngTech registered himself and is keen to promote the CPD and ongoing benefits of being a member of a professional engineering institution.

“ I feel greatly honoured, firstly to be nominated, and then to be recognised with this award from IMECHE.”

Natasha Wilson

Scholarship Visionary of The Year 2020: Natasha Wilson, who was chosen as a result of her “belief that engineering should be a tool for positive change and development, focussing on the human, and environmental benefits”.

“ Winning this award is a massive and unexpected confidence boost.”

James Potten

Whitworth Visionary of The Year 2020: James Potten, a high academic achiever with confidence and enthusiasm to convey their experiences in order to motivate others and to provide indication of the opportunities, challenges and responsibilities which face today’s professional engineer.

“I’m very grateful to have been given this award and be recognised for trying to catalyse remote teams engagement and effectiveness, especially during these challenging times of 2020”

Anastasia Perysinakis

Young Member Visionary of The Year 2020: : Anastasia Perysinakis, recognised for all-round excellence both in engineering and in volunteering.

“ Receiving this award fills me with gratitude, a deep sense of honour, and the confidence to stick with my big ideas in the hopes that I may have a large positive social impact throughout my career as an engineer.”

IMechE will further celebrate the 2020 Visionaries at the IMechE Prestige and Visionary virtual award ceremony hosted by the President, Terry Spall, and the Chief Executive, Colin Brown.
