Institution News Team
Jo Passingham has been appointed our permanent Chief Executive, building on work to strengthen IMechE’s voice with government and industry.
Her appointment supports our ambition to build a more resilient Institution that delivers for members.
During her time as interim Chief Executive, Jo has helped raise our profile through policy reports, campaigns and engagement with government. Our Formula Student programme also attracted national attention, including BBC coverage. Alongside this external focus, she has worked to strengthen our operations, creating a firmer foundation for the Institution’s future ambitions.
Jo brings experience of leading organisational change at The Prince’s Trust, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, Climate-KIC and Sitel. Her appointment follows a formal assessment by an Appointment Panel, which recommended her appointment to the Trustee Board. Trustees subsequently confirmed the decision. Jo will work with the Trustee Board, Council, staff and members to build on the past year’s progress and strengthen IMechE’s position as a voice for engineering. Join us in congratulating Jo on her appointment.
