Institution News Team
While the ongoing effects of the pandemic continue to create difficulties for holding meetings in person, the Institution has been successfully hosting dozens of webinars and training sessions to support the learning and development of its members.
Across more than 30 online events on a variety of engineering topics held so far in 2020, the team has welcomed over 12,000 virtual attendees, while also assisting regional members to hold their meetings and technical presentations online. With this set to rise as the year goes on, the total number of engineers that the Institution is engaging with looks set to double the figure achieved in 2019.
For those who are unable to join on the day, the IMechE offers a collection of recordings of all presentations to view on demand, which can be accessed via the new Webinar Hub. With over three years of content and growing, it is quickly becoming an invaluable resource for members to stay up to date on recent developments and to review topics that they might have missed.
Here’s a preview of some of the technical events taking place online for engineers across the next months:
Looking further to the future, the latest iterations of the prestigious conferences and seminars, including Vibrations in Rotating Machinery, Nuclear Lifting and High Performance Powertrains, will also take place as online live seminars.
