FS2026 MathWorks Modeling and Simulation Award 2026

18 Jun 2026 deadline: demonstrate the most effective use of MathWorks software to enhance your Formula Student campaign this year and win up to £1000 for your team.

New for 2026, the MathWorks Modeling and Simulation Award 2026 is designed to recognize and reward teams that excel in utilizing MathWorks tools for the design of their electric, combustion, and autonomous vehicles in the Formula Student UK 2026 competition.

Each team should share how they use MathWorks tools and work to adopt industry-grade model-based design. The award determination process consists of two stages: evaluation of a detailed report and assessment of a formal presentation. The teams will be scored on the following criteria: vehicle dynamics; powertrain; control design and tuning; driverless/autonomous systems; embedded code generation.

The top three teams will be announced at the award ceremony at Silverstone, with £1,000 awarded to the winners, £650 for second place and £350 for third place.
