Formula Student Team
Details of the special event for FS2021.
The Formula Student Team expect about 15 cars to compete in the endurance today and given the current weather forecast, the endurance event should finish by lunchtime. It would seem a great shame to leave such a great track empty when we have so many students, and cars on site and volunteers available to man the track. We would therefore like to maximise the opportunities for teams to make use of the track and run a special, one-off additional endurance session after the main endurance event has been completed and weather permitting.
An award will be presented to the driver that has the fastest clean flying lap (no cones or off courses) and completes the full course distance. There will be no points for this event.
The event will consist of 10 laps of the endurance circuit.
The driver that participates in this event must not have not taken part in the endurance event earlier in the day.
The event will be run in line with the Endurance Regulations.
Only clean laps with no cone penalties or off-courses will be eligible for this special award
Teams will be allowed to run multiple heats, time and weather permitting with an expected finish time of 16:00.
Due to the nature of this award, we expect all drivers to drive safely and in a controlled manner. We recognise that there are no penalties from other laps for your fastest lap, therefore any dangerous driving will immediately result in a black flag and disqualification from the event.
Teams may start when they are ready in queued order. Preference will be given to first attempts.
There will be a briefing for drivers, 15 minutes before the event starts.
