Online interview

If you are professionally registered as IEng or CEng, we need your expertise as a Professional Review Interview (PRI) assessor.

Are you planning a professional-development reset, setting a goal for the year ahead or looking for a way to give back to the profession? Support fellow engineers by volunteering your time.

Professional Review Interviews form an essential part of the assessment process for engineers applying for Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration.

“Volunteering as a PRI assessor is extremely rewarding. You get a front-row seat as peers achieve their goal of IEng or CEng registration. It also helps me expand my knowledge, keep up with innovations across different sectors and learn from a fantastic group of assessors.”

- Carolyn Harvey CEng MIMechE, PRI assessor

What do you do as a PRI assessor?

Online training lasts around 2.5 hours and is followed by opportunities to observe interviews before becoming an assessor.

Once appointed, assessors commit to interviews for two days each year, with half-day options available. Interviews take place on Microsoft Teams.

Assessors can choose dates that suit their diary using the online booking tool.

Thousands of engineers are ready to take the next step towards professional registration. To meet this demand while maintaining the rigour of the Professional Review process, we need more experienced registrants to volunteer as assessors.

By committing two days each year, you can help fellow engineers progress, uphold the profession’s high standards and ensure their achievements receive the recognition they deserve.
