Engineering Integrity Society - free seminar for young engineers

Formula Student Team

The EIS runs a series of Young Engineers Seminars for those at the start of their careers. This is a charitable activity and there is no charge to attend. The seminars cover a wide variety of topics and usually involve company visits and/or some hands-on demonstrations.

These events are a great opportunity for young engineers to gain valuable insight and knowledge from a variety of presenters with a wealth of experience. The groups are small and focused to allow time for in-depth discussions.

The next seminar will be held at Instron, High Wycombe on 9 May. The title of the seminar will be “Challenging practicalities in engineering”. Commercial engineering is never as simple as “just” a design or “just” a data value - someone has to manufacture it; someone had to do a physical test to generate your data. This day aims to help you think about the practicalities in a business and in a test lab respectively. A factory tour and practical exercise will be included along with presentations and discussions.

If you or any of your colleagues would like to attend this or any future Young Engineers Seminars please contact Sara Atkin at the EIS on (0)1623 884225 or info@e-i-s.org.uk.
