Are you looking for your next step up the career ladder? Would you like to discover which organisations are seeking talented engineers to join their team? The institution is once again supporting The National Engineering & Construction Recruitment Exhibition, which is returning to Birmingham’s NEC arena on 24 -25 November.

The exhibition, which is the UK’s largest engineering recruitment event, offers you the chance to meet recruiters from industry-leading employers and discover which companies would be a good fit for you, what opportunities they have to offer, and what they are looking for in an ideal applicant – making it unmissable for anyone who’s looking for a new challenge, starting their career or hoping their current skills will transfer over to a new sector.

A range of companies from across the globe – including Amazon, Ocado, EDF, Severn Trent, ETL – will be actively recruiting candidates at all levels of knowledge and experience.
This autumn’s exhibition will once again feature the popular Engineering Innovation & Skills Conference, which is free to attend for Institution members, contributes towards your CPD and represents an invaluable opportunity for professionally registered engineers and technicians to further their knowledge.

Attendees will have the chance to hear from leading industry speakers on challenging topics that range from the latest technological developments in the industry to the future of transport and infrastructure. Speakers this year include:

  • Martin Grant, CEO, Energy, Atkins  - “The Future Integration of Energy, Transportation and Technology”
  • Henry Le Fleming, Environmental performance specialist at PwC  - “What effect does a car have on the environment during its lifetime? Petrol vs diesel vs electric”
  • Robert Evans, Chief Executive, Cenex - “Can we meet the growing demand for energy intensive technology and electric transportation?”

In addition, one-to-one career advice will be on offer from career experts in free-to-attend CV consultations and interview clinics. Receive guidance on your career, knowledge on how to progress forward and practice your interview skills with fully trained professionals, preparing you to approach your job hunt with confidence. Notable industry speakers have been invited to take part in a detailed presentation programme , offering insight into a range of topics including:

  • What it's like to work for their companies
  • Projects they are currently working on and have worked on in the past
  • What career opportunities they have to offer
  • What they are looking for when they read job applications
  • How to go about applying for a role within their company

The exhibition will also incorporate the inspirational Women in Engineering forum on Friday 24 November. Sponsored by Morgan Sindall and supported by the Women’s Engineering Society, the forum offers women at all stages of their careers the chance to share experiences, learn how the engineering industry is adapting to encourage greater gender diversity, make new contacts and to return inspired.
