Institution News Team
If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many budding engineers could you inspire with a photograph?
The ambition behind the Institution’s annual Photographer of the Year competition has grown. In 2017 it will feature eight regional winners, as well as an over-18 overall winner and an under-18 winner.
Members and non-members of the Institution from across the world are invited to submit up to three photographs on the theme of ‘engineering in transport’. A winner will be selected from each of the eight regions – Americas, North East Asia, South East Asia, Southern Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Oceania and UK & Ireland.
A distinguished judging panel of leading industry professionals will select the winning images. The top photographs will be published by the Institution and seen by 115,000 Members in 140 countries.
It’s an opportunity for people of all ages to share inspirational, striking images related to mechanical engineering. The judges will be looking for photographs that are ambitious, creative, thoughtful and representative of the Institution’s theme of ‘engineering in transport’.
Winners will receive a variety of prizes, including cash, certificates and a canvas print of their winning photo. The under-18 winner will also receive an instant camera and the over-18 overall winner will attend an Institution event.
Please submit up to three photographs on the theme of ‘engineering in transport’ to YMBPhotoComp@imechenearyou.org.
