Engineering organisations seek engineers to provide evidence-based advice to government

The 38 professional organisations in engineering have joined forces to provide government with evidence-based advice to ensure the best outcome for Brexit negotiations.

Led by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng), the project is seeking industry-wide engagement and beyond to gather evidence, analyse the risk and opportunities and produce advice to underpin a strong negotiating position and the best result for the country and the engineering sector.

The RAEng is currently seeking advice that draws on the experience and expertise of the whole engineering community. As part of this effort engineers across the country are invited to join a webinar at noon on Monday 8 August where they will be able to have a say in the advice being prepared for government.

There will be a brief presentation introducing the project, followed by an hour’s forum during which engineers can share their points of view.

Subject-specific workshops in August will then provide further opportunities to input on particular areas of opportunity and risk.  In the first instance, these will focus on higher education, energy and the environment, and industrial strategy.
