Bangladesh National Finals of Speak Out for Engineering

The long-awaited Bangladesh National Finals of the IMechE Speak Out for Engineering competition 2018, organised by IMechE MIST Student Chapter, were held at the Banani Club, Dhaka on 31 August.

The venue was selected as Banani club, an exquisite place with a very amiable environment, more of like a 5 star hotel, which enabled our participants, judges, and audience to enjoy the event even more!

We would like to congratulate Saqif Inan (IUT MCE '14) wo was declared the champion and Rifat Bin Alam Rohit (IUT MCE '14) who was the runner up in this highly competitive event.

We would like to wish Saqif Inan all the best for his next endeavor, representing Bangladesh in the South Asian regional finals in Sri Lanka very soon!

The Banani Club is an exquisite place with a very amiable environment, more of like a 5 star hotel, providing a very suitable backdrop for our participants, judges, and audience. We would like to congratulate and thank everyone involved - an amazing group of people who dedicated their valuable time to ensure the success of this event. 

The event was chaired by Rtn Ambassador A B M Abdus Salam, who took a great personal interest in the plannng and organising of the event, helping to ensure its success.

During the finals, the participants presented their idea with lots of creative thinking and apropriate  problem solving in particular to their chosen engineering perspectives. Their presentation style, knowledge and ideas were very informative and highly appreciated by the audience.

Our thanks also go to the judges - who oversaw the whole event:

  • Associate Prof Dr HarunUr Rashid, IUT
  • Engr Shahed Hassan, Managing Director of Artisan Craft Ltd.

The judges were able to observe the participants, giving impartial judgments and views about each participant's topic. They also encouraged all the participants to strive further along their path and corrected any possible errors for their future development of their respective projects.

Finally thanks go to the IMechE MIST Student Chapter for organising the event and every executive committee members personally worked hard to make the event a great success.

The whole event will be featured and published in English and Bengali daily newspapers.
