If yes, registration for the Apprentice Automation Challenge 2023 is now live; don’t miss your chance to get your team involved in the IMechE’s exciting engineering competition.
Registration is simple; to register your team for free, simply complete the registration form on the Challenge website and start brainstorming your idea with your teammates.
Taking place every year, the Apprentice Automation Challenge tasks teams of up to six apprentices to design and manufacture a product, from concept to prototype, to automate an everyday task that can be found in the home, garden or workplace.
This could be a device to get you out of bed in the morning, sort and recycle rubbish, paint a wall, organise your life or make an otherwise boring task easier and quicker; the only limit is your imagination!
Apprenticeships are a great route into a career in engineering, equipping people with the skills needed to be an asset to any business.
Participating is a great opportunity to think creatively, learn new skills, showcase their abilities and get feedback on an engineering project that is as close to the real world as possible.
The Apprentice Automation Challenge empowers apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge, making them more confident and capable young engineers, and raises the profile of the organisations taking part.
Teams develop their prototypes and provide updates throughout the Challenge, culminating in the finals event in September 2023 where judges assess their work and crown the next winners.
The winners of the Apprentice Automation Challenge will not only win a trophy and £2,000, they will also have the chance to exhibit their work at the Smart Factory Expo as part of Digital Manufacturing Week and attend the prestigious TMMX Awards, organised by Apprentice Automation Challenge supporters The Manufacturer.
