Apprentice Automation Challenge 2020 is postponed

Apprentice Automation Challenge 2020 and COVID-19.

In line with Government guidance and in order to enforce measures that will keep participants, IMechE members and staff safe, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers has taken the decision to postpone the Apprentice Automation Challenge (AAC) finals event due to take place at the MTC in Coventry on 10 July.

In the challenging environment presented by COVID-19 and current Government restrictions on social interaction and group gatherings, we acknowledge that it is neither advisable, nor practical for teams to build a prototype for a final event in July. We are closely monitoring the situation by following Government advice and updating our event risk assessment on a regular basis.

An alternative date for the AAC finals will be confirmed in due course. The teams will be expected to submit a business case report in May as planned. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please feel free to get in touch directly at aac.challenge@imeche.org.
