IMechE STEM Ambassadors, volunteering on behalf of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, can loan a 3D printer for their educational outreach.

The 3D printer loan scheme has now reopened after being put on hold due to COVID-19 and will be available for loaned by CREATE Education. The 3D printer as an education resource is intended to illustrate the development of digital design, manufacturing skills and to demonstrate additive layer manufacturing techniques to the next generation.

IMechE Education Programme Operations Manager Jelena Gacesa notes that "We are delighted to announce the reopening of the 3D printer loan scheme for IMechE STEM Ambassadors: with additive manufacturing revolutionising countless industries, this is a vital resource to help bring engineering to life so that we can engage the next generation of engineers.”

The loan scheme, including all logistics and consumables, will be managed by CREATE Education. Regional training dates will be released shortly.
