This week was a particularly successful week for media coverage. The Institution achieved coverage on Sky News, BBC World, BBC Radio 4 and many of the UK’s national newspapers. Philippa Oldham in particular gave interviews on what would happen if a drone struck an aircraft, following a number of near-collisions last year. Dr Jenifer Baxter also featured on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme discussing the need to increase energy supply. Elsewhere, the Institution continues to receive coverage for its Engineering the UK Electricity gap policy statement which warns of the looming electricity shortage faced by the UK.

 

     Article about the Institution donating £50,000 to Sheffield Hallam University, aimed at encouraging more women into engineering.
