Smart cities, the future of the space industry and advanced sensors will be debated at an engineering-focused international conference next month.

Challenges in transportation and emerging communication technologies are other subjects at the Great Festival of Innovation in Hong Kong, which aims to encourage Asian investment in UK engineering firms.

Organised by the UK’s Department for International Trade and running for four days from 21 March, the event will host speakers including Shinya Kukita, chief engineer at NEC Corporation, and Julian David, CEO of techUK.

The festival will examine the future challenges and opportunities of an increasingly connected world, and showcase the UK’s opportunities as a place to visit, study and do business.
