Our new improved CPD tools can help you keep your career on track

Institution News Team

As a member and a professionally registered engineer, strengthening your experience and skills through CPD can help you achieve your career goals.

To better support you, as you plan and record your activities, we’ve significantly improved our CPD tools. The tools can be found within our Career Developer portal, in the My Account area of our website. Or they can be accessed at www.imeche.org/careerdeveloper.

The tools are available, exclusively, to our members who are professionally registered (EngTech, IEng or CEng).

The CPD tools can help you:

  • Set goals - Assess yourself and identify realistic goals for the long and short term
  • Benchmark - Conduct a skill gap analysis against set competence targets
  • Plan - Use a SWOT analysis to identify targets
  • Record - Create a portable record of your learning activities and outcomes
  • Review - Reflect and review your professional development

Why use Career Developer for your CPD?

  • Your CPD record will stay with you throughout your career, even if you change employers
  • Career Developer will help maintain your focus on long-term career aspirations
  • The assessment committee can easily review your CPD record, with your permission, without further action from you
