Car Select launched a dedicated website for Institution members almost a year ago. Since then, Car Select, part of the Lloyds Banking Group and Lex Autolease, has gone from strength to strength.
In June 2014 it opened a brand new, 10-acre car supermarket and remarketing site, near the Ricoh Arena, just off the M6 at junction three.
Car Select Coventry receives 2,000 contract-hire vehicles every week to supplement its used car stock. Each car undertakes a 120-point mechanical and electrical inspection before being prepared for retail sale.
A comprehensive service history is guaranteed. In addition to the meticulous selection of stock, at least one year’s warranty is supplied with all used vehicles, complementing the full manufacturer’s warranty issued with each car.
The famous Lloyds black horse above the door gives some indication as to the size and strength of the retail arm of the company.
Car Select is keen to pass these benefits on to Institution members.
As Chris Mobley, Senior Manager of Car Select Affinity, explains: “Due to our buying strength and relationship with most of the major car manufacturers, we are able to source large pre-registered batch deals of popular models specifically for our affinity partners.”
Members can save up to 25% on manufacturer-recommended retail prices on selected ‘pre-reg’ vehicles, as well as across the entire range of over 6000 new cars from 28 manufacturers.
Chris confirms that there are benefits to be had on used cars, too: “IMechE members will receive a fixed discount on the same vehicles that are available to the general public at our car supermarket in Coventry.”
Expansion in the West Midlands
June’s grand opening was Car Select’s opportunity to showcase its new investment. The special affinity partners’ showroom was a particular hit, with members of the Institution able to meet their dedicated sales executives and make the most of the preferential new and used offers available.
Despite the popularity of the new site, Car Select is keen to let members know that they don’t have to be ‘sent to Coventry’ to purchase a new car: the company will bring it to you.
John Brassington, senior manager explains the benefits: “Car Select will sell and deliver new cars to anywhere in the UK for free, as well as delivering used cars for a small fee. Part exchanges can also be collected from your home address so the entire process can be conducted from the comfort of your own home. Thirty-three per cent of customers buy cars without even seeing them in a showroom.”
