How you can get involved

Volunteer as an Ambassador

So far over 4800 schools, colleges and universities have signed up to Bloodhound, gaining access to a range of learning materials, as well as regular updates on the project. Many of these schools and colleges are really excited by Bloodhound and want enthusiastic engineers to go into the classroom and use Bloodhound to reach out to and inspire these young scientists and engineers.

As an IMechE Bloodhound Ambassador, there are ample opportunities to support the project and engage with and inspire a much wider audience at events such as The Big Bang Fair and science fairs. There will be no shortage of opportunities for you to get involved and inspire the next generation of engineers either as a schools or events ambassador.

All Institution Bloodhound Ambassadors will receive training which will cover:

  • Giving presentations
  • How to work with young people
  • Using Bloodhound resources
  • Working at public events
  • The history of the land speed record
  • Background information and progress of the project.

We hope that Bloodhound Ambassadors will be able to use this training and the resources available to build long term relationships with local schools creating a legacy after the desert race in 2013.
