Welcome

The Manufacturing Industries Division membership stands at 12,556 (05/07/07) and remains one of the largest of all Divisions within the Institution. The Division's technical programme (  RSS feed ) is organised to reflect the changing interests of the Manufacturing Industries with the Institution Members. We are actively seeking your views - get involved and share your comments with us by emailing manufacturing@imeche.org

The Division organises regular debates on hot topics within manufacturing, as well as workshops on TRIZ and Manufacturing Forums based on visits to successful companies entering the Manufacturing Excellence Awards (MX). The overall objective is to allow engineers to be updated on technological advances and to facilitate the exchange of information. Please go to the events page for a full list of events.

The Division supports and is responsible for a number of major activities including the Manufacturing Excellence Awards, Imagineering, the Microsystems Manufacturing Association (MMA), the Rapid Prototyping Manufacturing Association (RPMA), and more recently the establishment of a Midlands Manufacturing Centre based in Coventry.

The Division also supports the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS). The MAS is specifically designed to help UK manufacturers, large and small, to identify sources of manufacturing related support and expertise.

The Manufacturing Industries Division works with a number of other institutions such as the EEF.
