The Members’ Business Centre is located on the 1st floor of the IMechE HQ at One Birdcage Walk. Simply show your current membership card at reception and then follow the signs up to the first floor. Opening TimesThe Business Centre is open on weekdays from 8.45 am to 5.30 pm. Benefits to membersThe Members’ Business Centre is provided for the exclusive use of IMechE Members and comprises: - 2 modern and well appointed conference rooms
- A comfortable lounge supplied with daily papers
- A further room containing two fully equipped workstations.
- Use of the PC, telephone and fax machine is provided free of charge to Members, together with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.
- A full secretarial service, including use of the photocopying machine is also available for Members subject to a modest charge to the Institution.
Who can use it?- The Members’ Business Centre is provided for the benefit of all Members of the Institution (from Affiliates to Fellows) and their guests.
- The facility is very much in demand and Members are therefore requested not to use the facility as a base for conducting their business on a routine basis but rather to treat it as a base when visiting London on “other business”. Members are also requested to have due regard to the cost of telephone calls, faxes and emails/use of the Intranet.
How to bookAdvance bookings Advance bookings for rooms 1 & 2 can be made up to 5 days in advance with the Business Centre secretary on an hourly basis. Bookings must be made in an IMechE Member’s name and the IMechE Member must be among the users of the room. Other rooms available for hireShould any Member require the use of conference room facilities on a more regular basis or for a specific business or social event, other rooms are available in the building at significantly discounted rate for Members. The Business Centre secretary can advise Members on other facilities available within the building.
