Management Accountant (Sonaspection)

Sonaspection, a subsidiary of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, is the longest established manufacturer of flawed test specifications and mock ups for Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) training and certification. They manufacture thousands of flawed specimens for all of the major performance demonstration, training and qualifications in the world. 

An experienced Management Accountant is required and will be responsible for the full accounts preparation for the Sonaspection UK and US operations. The role reports directly to the Corporate Planning Manager, based in London, and will also involve managing the IMechE fleet of vehicles and its contract with the outsources third party. 

The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the accounts preparation including preparation of a consolidated (UK and US) monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, quarterly forecasting and annual budget and a daily cash flow report. They will also be involved in the preparation of accruals and prepayments. The candidate will be required to present results to senior management and prepare variance analysis.

To succeed in the role, you will be a self-starter who is ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified and/or with a substantive and robust track record of experience in a commercial finance environment, and with experience using financial management systems. You will have the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels to achieve results within tight deadlines. Good communication skills are necessary as you will be required to explain financial information to non-financial employees. The role requires a degree of flexibility and the ability to work independently and resourcefully without close supervision.
