At Support Network we realise that it’s not always easy to ask for help, especially when that relates to your mental wellbeing. We have consequently tried to make obtaining that help easier to find, through providing a range of potential services that might assist:
We introduced our telephone befriending service to help combat loneliness and social isolation. It is also suitable for those who would appreciate a regular friendly chat about life, mechanical engineering and/or topical issues of the day. Please see our Befriending page for more information.
Free telephone counselling can be provided through our partner providers. You can either contact us directly and discuss your needs, or you can call on our specific number 01275 376029 and ask to be referred.
We know that many people would prefer to speak to somebody face-to-face, but may not know of anybody suitable for their needs. Using the Counselling Directory website at counselling-directory.org.uk is a quick and easy way to see who is available in your postcode area, and what their expertise is.
We know that many people find that the cost of using a counsellor is a barrier to obtaining help, especially if NHS provision is unsuitable. Please contact us know if you need help with meeting the costs of counselling as we may be able to help.
If you would prefer not to talk to someone directly, online counselling may be more appropriate for your needs. You can access this through the e-counsellor at theecounsellor.co.uk
We realise that sometimes specialist and/or condition specific support is required. We are currently developing services with the National Autistic Society.
