Photo competition rules

What was the IMechE photo competition?

Based on the Institution's Vision , think about what mechanical engineering means to you.  From smart phones to staplers, artificial hearts and reusable spacecraft, take a photograph of something you think represents what mechanical engineering is.

Tell us why you have chosen your photograph in no more and 200 words and receive the accolade of having your photo awarded first prize in the Institution of Mechanical Engineer’s first photography competition.

Who can enter?

There will be four entry categories:
  • School students - Primary
  • School students - secondary
  • Affiliate, Associate (and under 10 years accredited)
  • Members and Fellows

Describe your photo

Why have you submitted this picture? What does it say to you about the world of engineering around you? You must include 200 words (100 words for Primary aged children) on what your photo is showing and why you chose to submit it.

How to enter: Take a photo and submit to photocomp@imeche.org along with your 200 word (Primary children 100 words) explanation by 31 October. This has been extended due to popular demand!
