This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about Lean and Six Sigma, what the similarities and differences are, and how they might benefit their organisation.

This practical and engaging course will give delegates a solid understanding of both Lean and Six Sigma principles and methods, and enable them to apply an introductory selection of best practice tools to improve existing products and processes.

The course gives a top level understanding of the concepts and philosophies involved in both disciplines; as well as some basic tools that can be applied immediately. It provides a foundation for further development in Six Sigma at all levels up to Master Black Belt; as well as for the Lean Practitioner course.

This course is suitable for ngineering managers who are considering Lean or Six Sigma as a potential approach for improving processes and solving business problems, and engineers who wish to understand the basics of Lean and Six Sigma, with the potential of applying some of the fundamental tools.

Understand the difference between Lean and Six Sigma, and also how they can be used in complementary ways

Know where to apply Lean tools to deliver quick wins and the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to support improvement projects
Be able to use a selection of key improvement tools, focussing on DMAIC and including an introduction to some statistical tools
Develop a Project Charter
Plan the next step of your Lean and Six Sigma journey
