Institution news
Have you taken significant steps to bridge the gap between an unsustainable present and a more sustainable future? Or know anyone who has?
We want to celebrate those who have achieved exactly this so make sure you apply for our EESG prize which will be measured by your achievement in the development of sustainable projects, products, and processes.
2019 Winner, Geoff Bates, received the prize for his work developing a solution to the loss of nitrogen from pastoral farming. The technology developed improves productivity and has opened a whole new field for pastoral farming. Geoff showed initiative and vision, he created a product which will improve pastoral farming for years to come.
In 2022, the Institution will be celebrating its 175th Anniversary, where the theme will be ‘Forward Thinkers’, focusing on how mechanical engineers can help solve the global challenges we face today.
Forward Thinkers are engineers who make a difference to the world. This type of thinking implies breaking away from the rest of the crowd, not feeling trapped by conventional thinking and moving forwards with vision and conviction.
If you know a Forward Thinker, or you are one yourself, and you have developed a project, product or process which is sustainable then apply for the EEGS prize by 1 March 2022.
You can win up to £1,000; individual value of an award will be determined by the EEGS Board. One or more recipients, up to a maximum of four, can be chosen.
