Ways to pay

The easiest way to renew your membership is online.


Pay online


Credit/Debit card by phone: You can pay over the phone using your debit or credit card by calling +44 (0)1952 214 050. Make sure to call during the opening hours of Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm (UK time), and have your membership number ready to provide.


For Members with UK Bank Accounts: For automated payments, if you have a UK bank account and address, you can set up a Direct Debit. With Direct Debit you receive a £3 discount on your 2024 subscription with the flexibility to pay in one, three or ten instalments. Direct Debit ensures your membership benefits are continuous and not disrupted by missed payments.

Cheque/Bankers’ Draft: To pay by cheque or bankers' draft, make it payable to 'IMechE', cross it with 'A/C payee only' for security, and include your membership number on the back. Mail it to IMechE, PO Box 87, Oakengates DO, TF3 3WT, United Kingdom.

Download your VAT receipts and annual Tax Statements for payments you made to IMechE, simply log in to your online account.

ITEPA

For UK payers of tax, an employee may claim a deduction for annual subscriptions paid to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Proceedings Journals or Engineering Council, where the body’s activities are relevant to the duties of the employment. The relevant legislation is ITEPA 2003 sections 343 to 344.
