If you’re a civilian engineer working in the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) or Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), you can use our dedicated route to professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng).
From March 2026, all applicants should apply for professional registration using the standard IMechE application route. Following a joint review by the DE&S IMechE Team and the IMechE, the standard route has been identified as the most straightforward and efficient path to registration while the list of People Coaches/Moderators is being updated.
