Participating teams of undergraduates from universities around the world are required to undertake a full design and build cycle of a UAS with specific mission objectives, before competing in a final two-three day ‘fly-off’ event in the UK.
The Challenge is set as a year-long project with phased stages of completion that require strict adherence and assessment in order to qualify. The focus on safety and technical competence throughout the competition is a very high priority. The steering group comprises of expert, professionals in aerospace engineering and flight safety, many of whom are senior staff at leading organisations in the sector of aerospace and defence.
