Global, Inclusive and Digitally Enabled

Our new strategy is our vision of how IMechE will be transformed into a “global, inclusive and digitally enabled engineering community” so we can deliver our mission of “improving the world through engineering.

We would like our members to become involved and help us develop the strategy further.

Opportunities to shape the future

We are running a major programme of research into the needs of members, volunteers, and the wider engineering community over the coming months.

During November and December 2023, we are seeking interest to participate in a set of interviews. During January 2024, we will be contacting all members and recently lapsed members asking them complete an online survey, informed by the interviews held in late 2023. During the survey phase, we will also be recruiting a dedicated long-term "member voice" panel to consult with more frequently.

Your feedback will shape future decisions we make. Please encourage other members and volunteers to engage in this research, as this is one of the main ways we can incorporate your views and ideas into the services we provide to members and our wider engineering community.

Virtual Volunteer Conference

We ran our annual conference for volunteers virtually via Teams from 6-10 November 2023. We recorded most of the sessions and will be making them available to watch in our Volunteer Resource Centre
