This course addresses the key steps necessary to schedule and resource a project including a discussion about the pros and cons of software tools.

The programme is delivered by project management experts who will provide a practical guide to the scheduling process.

The course incorporates practical sessions and case studies to ensure you have the opportunity to apply the tools and techniques being presented.

Who should attend?

Project Managers, Team Managers, or personnel in a project assurance or project support role.  Delegates with previous basic knowledge of project management should be able to use the techniques in a live project after the course. 

No previous experience of project management is required, but may be useful.

  • Product and work breakdown structures
  • Building a work package

            Development of estimates for cost and duration of each work package

            Identification of dependencies between activities/work packages

            Critical path analysis

            Resource scheduling including smoothing and levelling

            Other resourcing techniques      

            Risks associated with the scheduling steps

            Discussion of software tools – pros and cons

 

The course will be delivered in a workshop format and attendees will work in small groups and given the opportunity to practise each step using a straightforward practical case study.
