Summary

An effective facilitator can help encourage participation and involve everyone in the process – by learning and developing these skills, you too can empower the group to reach a successful outcome.

Many individuals find themselves having to train, teach and facilitate on a regular or occasional basis.

Yet they often have no formal training themselves in this core skill resulting in training that lacks the X factor (in fact it often has the Zzzzzz factor instead!) - training that is demotivating, dreary and ineffective and results in a lack of learning and cynical and demotivated employees.

In two intensive and interactive days delegates will learn both the technical aspects of effective training as well as how to behave confidently and assertively with those they are working with.

Who should attend?

This programme is for anyone who is involved in facilitating groups to become more effective in achieving results, driving change and improving delivery. This could be as part of a formal meeting, a training course or general facilitation of groups in the workplace.

How will I benefit?

After this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the nature and scope of group work facilitation training.
  • Obtain a firm grasp of the interplay between content, procedure, and process.
  • Understand the systemic nature of focussing groups quickly and effectively on a common purpose and result.
  • Design, develop and facilitate interventions appropriate to varying situations.
  • Develop competence in dealing with difficult people and situations.
  • Recognise and manage group dynamics.
  • Develop greater personal impact and confidence as a facilitator, as well as remaining centred in pressurised situations.
