Remap: MAKER OF customised EQUIPMENT FOR PEOPLE WITH A disability

Remap - maker of equipment

Support Network has partnered with Remap to help IMechE members and their family obtain customised equipment to meet their individual needs. Every year, on average, Remap helps more than 3500 people in the UK by providing individual, practical solutions. They know that everyone’s needs are different.

Remap is a charity that uses STEM skilled volunteers to design and make bespoke aids and adaptations. This could range from adding external switches to the toys of a child with cerebral palsy, to designing and making a system to help wheelchair users practise archery. Their services are provided free of charge.

Their vison is to create a world where every single person with a disability can get the help they need, and to be able to do what they want through using custom-made equipment. They provide solutions to everyday problems when there is nothing commercially available.

They accordingly help to improve quality of life and increase independence for people with a disability, no matter what their age. That is something that we want to enable through Support Network too.

Adaptations and new designs can be provided to help with mobility, help in the home, managing personal care, plus sports and hobbies.
