Engineering news
Now in its 12th year, International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) shines a light on the incredible impact women are making across the engineering profession. This year’s theme, ‘Together We Engineer’, highlights the power of collaboration in driving progress and innovation.
Congratulations to all those named in this year’s Top 50 Women in Engineering. We’re especially proud to see three IMechE members recognised. This INWED, we celebrate the power of collaboration and the contribution women are making across the profession. Your achievements reflect our mission to improve the world through engineering and serve as an inspiration for future generations.

A Fellow of the IMechE, Puja is actively involved with the Institution – from serving as a professional reviewer and mentor, to judging events like Formula Student and the BBC Gladiators Challenge. She also attended the IMechE’s “Engineering Needs Everyone” event earlier this year.
Poppy Harrison, CEng MIMechE
Poppy Harrison is a Senior Engineer at AtkinsRéalis and a passionate advocate for inclusion and community within engineering. She has served as the Chair of the IMechE Essential Management Skills Committee and Diversity & Inclusion Lead for the Greater London Region Young Members Board.
“It’s always a bit awkward to be singled out – especially when this year’s theme is ‘Together We Engineer’! This award really reflects the amazing communities, mentors, and teams I’ve been lucky enough to work with through my career, and is a great reminder of how important it is to support others as you develop.”
Congratulations to all three on this well-deserved recognition. Your contributions continue to inspire both the profession and the next generation of engineers.
